Letters Needed – From FilmFlorida.org

Dear Central Florida Film Florida members,

As some of you know, almost two years ago I was asked to give input on a potential local film incentive for Orange County. The process has been ongoing, and these things take time. On Tuesday May 7, the Orange County Commissioners will meet and included on the agenda is the initiative to create a local film incentive for Orange County. This is the first formal/official discussion during a Commission Meeting. If things go well, this is another step in the process. If things don’t go well, the initiative is dead.

In an effort to show support for the initiative, we are encouraging people to send letters to the County Commissioners urging them to support the local incentive. By EOD Friday May 3, please send a letter to each email below. You can copy and paste the emails into one email and send the same email/letter to each commissioner at one time.

Emails: nicole.wilson@ocfl.net; christine.moore@ocfl.net; mayra.uribe@ocfl.net; maribel.gomez-cordero@ocfl.net; emily.bonilla@ocfl.net; michael.scott@ocfl.net

Please take the time to send a 3-5 sentence email/letter encouraging them to support a local film incentive for Orange County that includes the following info:

Dear Orange County Commissioners,
Your name
Your job/profession
That you are a resident of Central Florida/Orange County/Orlando (whichever is applicable)
That you support the creation of a film incentive for Orange County
How a program could positively impact you and/or your business (either directly or indirectly)
How a program could enhance tourism
How a program could diversify the overall economy of Orange County
Thanking them for their consideration

Thank you very much for sending this letter. Feel free to forward this request to others that work directly or indirectly in our industry. If you have any questions or need anything else please let me know. If you are unsure what to write, feel free to send me a draft and I can give input/clean up.

Thanks,
John Lux
