I am currently a student at Truthful Acting Studios. There is only a few weeks left until I complete Part II of the Meisner Program and my experience with TAS has … read more been amazing. My instructors, Robb Maus and Marco DiGeorge, are incredible. They are not there just to teach you about acting, but about yourself as an individual. I call them the dynamic duo. Robb and Marco make you feel important and they will encourage you to continue your craft and to never give up. Everything they teach us has a purpose and it teaches you about life as well. I'm grateful to have started my acting career with TAS. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to become an actor, as well as anyone who simply wants to gain more confidence and learn more about themselves. No one should ever worry about the cost of the programs because Robb and Marco are kindly enough to work a payment schedule out to your convenience. TAS is the perfect place to start your acting career. They start from square one and bring you up step by step. I am lucky to have started my acting career at TAS with Robb and Marco. I am truly thankful.

For the last 2 semesters, I have been with the same group of students. Students that I now call friends and that I fell in love with. However, things completely … read more changed for this semester. We lost some students, but gained others. I really had no idea what to expect. I was now in class with people that were experienced in the craft and that I looked up to and really admired. Yes, at first I felt a lot of inadequacy and self-consciousness. I kept my guard up and wondered what they thought. However, those feelings melted away as each one welcomed me and everyone from my previous semesters into their circle. And I realized that they were actors just like me. They had the same ambitions and desires and longings to learn the craft as me and the rest of my original group of classmates. And 2 circles of friends became 1.A lot happened this semester. The Pulse club shooting absolutely broke my heart. I was disgusted and shocked by this unbelievable event. Then I saw something I wasn’t expecting from Truthful Acting Studios. Marco DiGeorge and Robb Maus, our acting teachers, canceled classes and set aside days for the public to just come in and talk about their feelings and have free counseling. Even in the following classes there were opportunities to share and let emotions take over. Amazing lessons that I learned from so many people during that time. Then just a short time later, we lost one of our own, Eric Torres, in a tragic automobile accident. A young man that was so full of positivity, jokes, and undeniable unconditional love. Someone that I greatly thought the world of and knew that he was going to take this world by storm. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my decision to make. And he moved on. I was so angry and hurt. I wanted to not believe it. I struggled very hard with this. How can someone so sweet and caring and full of potential be taken away? During this time, everyone joined together, wept together, encouragement and comfort flooded the Truthful Acting Studio from the dedication of his life day where his father attended and people that were touched by his witty and somewhat unique humor to the additional days to just share. Classes following we would talk about Eric. We all came to terms with the loss in our own way, and honestly, a wave of emotion is hitting me as I type this. And then a couple of students, moved on to start a different chapter in their own lives. I really miss them and wish them the best on their new adventures.Marco taught us so much about the craft, about life, about how to take discouragement and look it face on and fight for your passion back. I found myself binding together to people that I have grown with and admired in ways that all I can say is like family. No, they are family. And I love each and everyone of them. I feel that this semester was a real turning point for me…not to stop pursuing my dreams. Life is short. Life IS short. Pursue what you want out of life. Discouragement will come…but press on. I believe we all learned that lesson. And even though most of our class is separating as each of us pursues new directions or further education, we will always have each other and the experiences and memories that we shared. I will miss everyone of you!!!! My only wish is that I had the Pensieve of Hogwarts Castle so that I could hold each memory close to my heart in a vial and relive them over and over again. I love you all. You will never know or understand how much!!Listen, for anyone else reading this that currently doesn't go to TA. I have now taken 5 acting classes (Acting on Camera 1 and 2 and Meisner 1, 2, and 3) at TA and feel I can without a doubt say this. If you want to try something different, a place to step out of your comfort zone, and follow your dreams, and be part of a group of people that you will love and call family…then this is the place for you. In so many ways Truthful Acting Studios is a place of finding oneself. It is a place where encouragement abounds to follow your dreams under the umbrella of safe teaching and unconditional love.
